My Favorite Portraits from 2011 // Atlantic City Portrait Photography

I know this is long overdue. Though I miss the hustle and bustle of family portraiture, I have been enjoying some much needed down time this winter. So here are some of my absolute favorites from last year. Since I'm always trying to grow as a visual artist, my hope is that with each shoot and each year my images get better!

Since birth, these triplets have been so much fun to photograph. I find it both challenging and rewarding. In this photo they were about 6 months. In the photo below they were a year. We were all thrilled to have all 3 smiling at once. Of course it took 5 of us:)

At first I wasn't sure about this photo because of the hair in front of her face. I had to let that go, her expression is priceless.

How could you not like this face?!! What a cutie pie!!

It's always such an adventure photographing the Gayeski boys!!

Some of my best shots are inspired by my clients. In this shot, the mom suggested we get a photo of the kids throwing leaves. I'm so happy to have captured the essence of fall in this image.

A very special family portrait, in Northfield, New Jersey

My weekend of mini-shoots, a special I ran this past month, was a huge success! I spent 2 days over at Birchgrove Park in Northfield, NJ, photographing 18 families. Luckily, we had the most beautiful fall weather. One family, in particular, was very special to me. Not only because it was my sister Becky's family, but because they had undergone a terrible tragedy a little over 2 years ago. Ryan and Becky lost their 6 year old daughter, Brionna. The summer before she had passed away, I had the pleasure capturing my sister's family on camera. While on vacation, we did a beach shoot in the Outer Banks. Little did I know, this would be the last time I would photograph Brionna. We were thankful that we had that time to get images of Brionna and her new baby sister, Mikayla, together. Now, a little over 2 years later, Becky asked me to photograph her family for the first time since losing Brionna. It was bittersweet for me. Bitter, because Bri was not in the pictures. Sweet, because I got to capture Ryan and Becky, smiling, laughing, and enjoying their precious daughter, Mikayla.

It couldn't have been a more beautiful day for an outdoor wedding. The Inn at Sea Oaks in Little Egg Harbor, NJ provided a beautiful backdrop for Bill and Deb's special day. The Brides choice in colors and flowers were the perfect touch to the gorgeous landscape at the Inn. Danny and I couldn't help but enjoy ourselves while capturing the moments shared by a truly sweet couple.

I had the pleasure of photographing alot of families at the beach in Margate, NJ this summer. Amy, Dan and their two children, Kate and Luke, were a joy to photograph! Kate and Luke loved the camera and the beach. They had no problem striking a pose for my husband Dan and I. After a while, Amy and Dan just took a backseat and enjoyed watching their kids ham it up!! Here are some of my favorites from our session. There is still time to schedule beach portraits. I have our family shoot scheduled for October 3rd. Can't wait to ham it up!!

We shot Katie and Phil's wedding on one of the hottest days this summer, July 23. The extreme heat could not take away from the pure joy of their wedding day. Katie and Phil have a beautiful chemistry that was easy for my husband and I to capture. She was also, undeniably, a gorgeous bride. It was a pleasure photographing the two of them! After tying the knot at St. James Church in Ventnor, NJ, we ventured over to Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point, NJ to celebrate.

Danny and I will be going on our 10th anniversary this August. I feel very blessed to have him in my life. When I got offered to shoot Bobbi Anne and AJ's wedding at the Cathedral of the Woods in Medford Lakes, NJ, I couldn't have been more thrilled. This is the same little chapel that Danny and I were married in 10 years ago. I love the charm of this little log cabin. I felt extremely lucky to be able to capture this special day for Bobbi Anne and AJ.

My husband and I had a blast shooting Brook and Brian's wedding. Calling for a slight chance of rain, the day ended up being perfect for the outdoor wedding at Great Bay Country Club in Somers Point, NJ. Just as the ceremony was coming to a close, thunder started to roll in. Once inside, the guests had no problem letting loose and spending the rest of the evening on the dance floor. This adorable couple was more than ready to have fun on the Ocean City Boardwalk last night. Danny and I spent the evening capturing some special moments between Katie and Phil. Both social workers, Katie and Phil plan on tying the knot July 23, 2011 at St. James Church in Ventnor, NJ, followed by a reception at the Great Bay Country Club in Somers Point. We had a great time bonding with them and look forward to being part of their wedding day!

Here is the scoop. When it comes to photographing my children, I find it somewhat difficult to get that perfect picture of my kids. I have to try to make a point of pulling out my camera just to capture these precious moments in my children's lives. Most people probably think that I have a camera on me at all times, but that just isn't so. I realize life can go by fast and they will only be this age for such a short time. I will definitely be scheduling a "professional photo shoot" with my boys in August to get that perfect portrait. You know, the one that will be going on the 2011 Christmas card. These photos are ones I was happy I captured and made it a point to have my camera on hand.

Liam had stopped me from doing work and asked that I take a picture of him and our dog, Tucker.

Patrick just turned 9 this May. He is getting very good on his skateboard.

Crystal and Paul had the most fabulous wedding this past weekend. It was the perfect winter wedding! We started the day at Nix Salon and Spa in Margate and ended the evening at the Noyes Museum in Oceanville, NJ. Not only did I enjoy documenting Crystal and Paul's big day, but I also enjoyed spending time with Crystal and her family. I feel so blessed to be able to do something I love!

My assistant (husband) and I had the pleasure of photographing Crystal and Paul on Friday at Birchgrove Park in Northfield, NJ. The snowy setting made for a great backdrop! This beautiful couple had some great chemistry! I can't wait to shoot their wedding at the Noyes Museum of Art in Oceanville, NJ in a couple of weeks.
